GAIL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026: GAIL (India) Limited has published the notification for the recruitment of Executive Trainees via GATE-2026, which has 70 vacancies in four different disciplines of engineering. The Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking has invited applications from qualified engineering pass-outs in the disciplines of Chemical, Instrumentation, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering.The online application process has started from February 20, 2026 at 11:00 hrs and will continue until March 18, 2026 at 18:00 hrs. Candidates are advised to apply online through their GATE-2026 Registration Number only after reading the entire notification carefully.Vacancy details and disciplinesThe recruitment process will fill a total of 70 vacancies. Out of which, 17 vacancies are reserved for the post of Executive Trainee (Chemical), 21 vacancies for Executive Trainee (Instrumentation), 16 vacancies for Executive Trainee (Electrical), and 16 vacancies for Executive Trainee (Mechanical).The designation of the post is Executive Trainee in all four disciplines. The shortlisted candidates will be assigned to any location in India, as per organisational needs.Eligibility criteria and age limitThe applicants must have a B.E. or B.Tech degree in the same discipline with a minimum of 65 per cent marks and a valid GATE-2026 score.The required qualifications for the Chemical discipline include degrees in Chemical, Petrochemical, Chemical Technology, Petrochemical Technology, Chemical Technology and Polymer Science, and Chemical Technology and Plastic Technology. The Instrumentation candidates must have degrees in Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Control, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electrical and Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical and Electronics.The required degrees for Electrical discipline include Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Electrical and Power, and Electrical, Electronics, and Power. The Mechanical candidates must have degrees in Mechanical, Production, Production and Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical and Automobile.The maximum age limit is 26 years as of March 18, 2026. Age relaxation is allowed as per rules: five years for SC/ST, three years for OBC (NCL), 10 years for PwBD (General/EWS), 13 years for PwBD (OBC-NCL) and 15 years for PwBD (SC/ST).Pay scale and selection procedureThe selected candidates will be assigned a pay scale of Rs 60,000-1,80,000 in E-2 grade, with a basic pay of Rs 60,000 for a period of one year as training cum probation. After successful completion of the training cum probation period, they will be absorbed in the same pay scale and grade.The selection procedure includes short-listing based on GATE-2026 marks, Group Discussion, and/or Personal Interview. There is no application fee to be paid.
