Educationists attributed the trend partly to the admission schedule being advanced by nearly a month compared to previous years, which may have caused some students to miss the initial application window. The report noted that Maharashtra recorded a seven-year low Secondary School Certificate (SSC) pass percentage of 90.75% this year, a factor that may have influenced admission trends. In the Mumbai region, 1,33,323 of the 2,11,660 registered applicants secured seats in the first round, while students have been given time until June 3 to confirm their admissions.
