This is perhaps the easiest mistake to avoid and one of the most awkward to make.
A spelling mistake in your name, an incorrect date, an old phone number, a broken email address, or a sentence that clearly has not been proofread can make an otherwise strong resume look careless.
And sometimes the problem is even simpler. You may have left the name of your previous company in the summary while applying for a completely different role.
Before sending your resume, read it once as a recruiter would. Check the dates, job titles, contact details, formatting, and spelling. Better still, ask someone else to read it once.
Because when you are applying for a job, your resume is often your first introduction. You do not want a small, avoidable mistake to become the thing that gets noticed first.
