The countdown to BTS’ long-awaited full-group comeback has sent fans across the world into a frenzy. After nearly four years of focusing on solo activities and completing military service, the global K-pop superstars are reuniting with their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, set to release on March 20, 2026.

The comeback will be followed by a massive live event the very next day. BTS will perform at Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, 2026, with the show streaming worldwide on Netflix, allowing fans across the globe to witness the historic reunion in real time.

But while excitement among fans continues to soar, the anticipation has sparked an unexpected conversation in India – one involving classrooms, attendance sheets, and a teacher’s warning to parents.

BTS ARIRANG comeback sparks massive excitement among global fans

The ARIRANG era marks the group’s first full-group comeback in nearly four years, officially ending their military service hiatus. Along with the album release, BTS has also announced a 34-city world tour beginning in April 2026.

However, despite the massive scale of the tour, India is not included in the initial list of tour stops. The official Arirang World Tour schedule revealed that the band will perform across multiple global cities, but Indian fans will have to wait longer, as the country was omitted from the 2026 lineup. Additional tour dates expected for 2027 may still bring hope for Indian ARMY.

Even without a physical concert in the country, fans appear determined to celebrate the comeback – especially with the Netflix livestream of the Seoul event.

Teacher’s viral warning about students planning mass bunk for BTS livestream

The excitement around the comeback appears to have reached classrooms as well. According to a post circulating on X (formerly Twitter), a teacher claimed that some students were allegedly planning to skip classes on March 21 to watch the BTS livestream. The post included what appeared to be a WhatsApp status message from a math teacher, warning parents about the situation.

The message reportedly read: “Dear Parents, If your child tells you there is a tuition holiday on 21st March, please note that this is NOT true. We have received information that students are planning a mass bunk to watch the BTS live concert on Netflix. There is no holiday on that day. If any student is absent without a valid reason, strict action will be taken. Thank you for your cooperation.”

The warning quickly caught attention online, sparking reactions ranging from amusement to debate.

Social media reactions divide fans over “BTS vs studies” debate

While many social media users laughed off the situation as humorous, others defended the students’ enthusiasm for the group’s comeback. Some argued that the excitement was no different from past generations skipping classes for entertainment. A few users even compared it to students in earlier years bunking school to spend time playing Xbox or PlayStation.

Others, however, felt that the situation highlighted just how passionate BTS fans – especially younger ones – can be when it comes to the group’s long-awaited return.

Netflix will also release a documentary soon after. BTS: THE RETURN, arriving March 27, 2026, will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the group’s journey while recording the ARIRANG album in Los Angeles.
