Despite being Bollywood’s go-to action star, Tiger Shroff has opened up about a fear that starkly contrasts his on-screen persona. Known for pulling off high-risk stunts with ease, the actor recently revealed that he suffers from aerophobia and is considering therapy to deal with it.Interestingly, while his father Jackie Shroff built a reputation playing a wide range of roles across languages, Tiger has largely been associated with action-heavy films since his debut in Heropanti (2014), directed by Sabbir Khan. From War to the Baaghi franchise, he has consistently delivered power-packed performances, maintaining a chiselled physique that complements his action image.

“I have aerophobia… I’m planning to go to a therapist”

Opening up about his fear during a conversation with Lilly Singh, Tiger shared, “I’m actually planning to go to a therapist because I have aerophobia. A couple of years ago, I was on a very turbulent flight and… I don’t have control over a turbulent flight, right? What do I do?”He added, “Ever since then, every time I have to board a flight, I have anxiety a couple of days prior. For some reason, I’m still not able to get over that.”

“Who’s going to tell my mind that?”

While the actor understands the logic behind aviation safety, he admitted that fear takes over in the moment.“The statistics say that flying is the safest means of transport. I have spoken to many pilots who all said that turbulence is nothing but just like bumpy roads. That’s the analogy they keep giving me. But who’s going to tell my mind that? When it happens, it’s a different story altogether,” he said.Tiger further reflected on his need for control, saying, “I wish I had control over that. I like controlling every part of my body. I like knowing what I’m doing.”

“It’s really frustrating at times”

The actor also admitted that overthinking seeps into other aspects of his life.“Sometimes it’s really frustrating because I’m so indecisive at times as well, even about how to schedule my day so that I can maximise my potential,” he confessed. The actor was last seen in Baaghi 4.
