You walk into a hospital or doctor’s office expecting it to be one of the cleanest places around. And in many ways, it is. Floors are mopped, equipment is disinfected, and staff follow strict hygiene protocols.
But there is a slightly uncomfortable reality: some of the things you casually touch while waiting for your appointment can carry germs simply because so many people handle them throughout the day.
Think about it. A waiting-room chair, a registration counter, a pen, or even the elevator button may have been touched by dozens of hands before yours.
That does not mean you should panic every time you visit a clinic. It simply means a little awareness can go a long way. Here are some of the everyday surfaces worth treating with extra caution.
