In the absence of rainwater, the Chitrakote Falls is seen as a stream of falling water through some parts of the rocks. However, once the monsoon sets in, everything changes. As the volume of water increases, the several small streams merge into one large horseshoe-like waterfall. Having the maximum possible width of nearly 300 metres, the Chitrakote Falls is considered to be the widest waterfall in the whole of India.
