Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi tapped into her sporty side as she delivered an electrifying performance at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 held at the Toronto Stadium on Friday, ahead of the Canada vs Bosnia match.The ceremony featured a star-studded lineup of performers, including Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Michael Buble, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince. The show opened with a tribute to Canada’s Indigenous peoples and heritage, as the football pitch transformed into colours of the red, white and gold, depicting the Canadian flag.

She got the show off to an electrifying start, and performed the official FIFA song, ‘Siir Siir’, alongside Vegedream and Sanjoy. The actress and singer showed off her moves and grooves as fans and spectators cheered on. Videos of her dance routine with a number of background dancers, has since gone viral online.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 officially got underway in Mexico on Thursday evening with a grand opening ceremony featuring a headline performance from global pop star Shakira. The singer performed ‘Dai Dai’, the tournament’s official anthem, and was joined on stage by Nigerian music star Burna Boy.
